Since David Lett, Dick Erath, and Charles Coury planted the first vines here more than 40 years ago the Willamette Valley has grown to include 200 wineries and 12,000 acres of producing vineyard. The predominant varieties grown are Pinot noir, Pinot gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling. The Willamette Valley is among a very few places in the world where Pinot Noir thrives, and the land, the climate, and the mystery of terroir conspire to produce a truly World Class wine.
